Hajj: The Fifth Pillar of Islam
The Hajj (the pilgrimage to Mecca) is the fifth and
final pillar of Islam. It is an extremely exceptional love that obliges Muslims
to go to the blessed city ofMecca in Saudi Arabia at a specific time of the
year to celebrate specific ceremonies.
"Hajj" comes from the Arabic word "ج ح", َ which phonetically means "to go to a
place to visit".In Islamic formulation, Hajj is a journey to the Kaaba,
the "Place of Allah", in the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
The trip to Makkah is unique for all adult Muslims who
are genuinely and financially capable and can support their families during
their death.Hajj ceremonies take place over 5 or 6 days according to the
Islamic lunar calendar.
The travel period begins on the eighth day of each year
and ends on the thirteenth day of Dhu alHijjah, the last month of the Islamic
timetable.
·
At Hajj, the Hujjaj (pilgrims) perform Ihram and adopt a
progression of customs:
Each Muslim
walks several times counter-clockwise around the Kaaba (a block structure and
the title of the petition for Muslims), runs (staggers vigorously) back and
forth between the slopes of theSafa and Marwah several times, then at that time
drinks from the well of Zamzam, goes to the fields of Mount Arafat tostays
awake, spends a night in the plain of Muzdalifa and performs the representative
stoning of Satan by throwing stones.

the Jannat Al Mu'alla Cemetery, where
part of the forerunners of the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) were covered.
The historic
centers of Makkah incorporate the Kiswa factory, where the roofing of the
Kaaba is made every year.
·
Absolution of
Sins
The
transgressions of an adherent whose Hajj has been recognized are completely
purified. Thus, the Prophet Muhammad (peace_be_upon_him) said:
"Whoever performs Hajj and presents noRafath
(vulgarity) or Fusooq (offense), returns
(freed from transgression) like the day his mother gave birth to him.” –
[SahihalBukhari]

A Sort of
JihadHajj
is a kind of
jihad for Allah; now Allah refers to it after the sections of jihad.Similarly,
in the Hadith, when 'Aa'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) regardless of
whether jihad is required for women, said: "OK,for them there is a jihad in which there is no
battle, Hajj and 'Umrah.
· The reward for Hajj is Jannah

with the most perfect heart will receive a reward from heaven. In this regard, The
Prophet Muhammad said:

one 'Umrah and then move on to the next appeasement in what is between them,
and Hajj Mabrûr is priceless outside of Paradise.” – [Bukhari and Muslim].
