اللہ تعالیٰ قرآن پاک میں فرماتا ہے۔

اے ایمان والو! تم پر روزے فرض کیے گئے ہیں جس طرح تم سے پہلے لوگوں پر فرض کیے گئے تھے تاکہ تم تقویٰ اختیار کرو۔ رمضان کا مہینہ وہ مہینہ ہے جس میں قرآن مجید نازل ہوا جو لوگوں کے لیے مکمل رہنمائی ہے۔ اور اس میں لوگوں کی صحیح راہنمائی کرنے والی چیزیں ہیں اور ایسی واضح اور واضح باتیں ہیں جو غلط کو حق سے جدا کرتی ہیں۔

حضرت سلمان فارسی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ماہ شعبان کی آخری تاریخ کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں خطبہ دیا۔ اس میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لوگو! صیغہ افغان کا بابرکت مہینہ آرہا ہے، اس بابرکت مہینے کی ایک رات (شب قدر) ہزار مہینوں سے بہتر ہے۔

اس مہینے کے روزے اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرض کیے ہیں اور اس کی راتوں میں بارگاہِ الٰہی میں کھڑے ہونے (یعنی نماز تراویح پڑھنا) کو نفل عبادت قرار دیا ہے جس کا اجر عظیم ہے۔

جو شخص اللہ کی رضا اور اس کا قرب حاصل کرنے کے لیے اس مہینے میں روزہ افطار کرے تو یہ اس کے گناہوں کی بخشش اور جہنم سے آزادی کا ذریعہ ہوگا۔ روزہ دار کے برابر ثواب ملے گا۔ روزہ دار کے ثواب میں کمی کے بغیر۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا گیا: یا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! افطاری کا سامان میسر نہیں تو کیا غریب اس عظیم ثواب سے محروم رہ جائیں گے؟

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ یہ ثواب اس شخص کو دے گا جو کسی روزہ دار کا روزہ ایک چھوٹے چمچ دودھ یا صرف ایک گھونٹ پانی سے افطار کرائے گا۔

اس شخص کو اللہ تعالیٰ میرے حوض (یعنی کوثر) سے اس طرح پانی پلائے گا کہ اسے جنت میں پہنچنے تک کبھی پیاس نہیں لگے گی۔ اس کے بعد آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا! وہ مہینے میں اپنے بندے اور بندے کے کام میں کمی اور کمی کرے گا، اللہ تعالیٰ اس کی مغفرت فرمائے گا اور اسے جہنم سے رہائی اور آزادی عطا فرمائے گا۔ حضور اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ رمضان میں تین عشرے ہیں۔

پہلا عشرہ ختم رحمت، درمیانی عشرہ مغفرت کا نزول اور آخری عشرہ عذاب سے نجات کی دستاویز ہے۔

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس نے ایمان اور احتساب کی حالت میں رمضان کے روزے رکھے تو اس کے پچھلے گناہ معاف ہو جائیں گے۔ بخش دیا جائے گا اور جو شخص رمضان میں ایمان اور احتساب کی حالت میں عبادت کرتا ہے اس کی گزشتہ خطائیں معاف کردی جاتی ہیں اور جو شخص شب قدر میں ایمان کی حالت میں عبادت کرتا ہے احتساب کی حالت. اس کی ماضی کی غلطیاں کیوں معاف ہوں گی؟

روزہ ایک ایسی عبادت ہے جس کے بارے میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے کہ روزہ میرے لیے ہے اور میں اس کا اجر خود دیتا ہوں۔ یعنی یہ اللہ اور اس کے بندے کا ہے۔ یہ سیدھی بات ہے کہ بندہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے حکم کی تعمیل میں سارا دن کھانے پینے اور نفسانی خواہشات سے پرہیز کرتا ہے اور وہ ان آداب کی مکمل پابندی سے واقف ہوتا ہے اور اپنے دن اور راتیں ان پابندیوں کے مطابق گزارتا ہے۔ . اگر وہ کوشش کرے گا تو یقیناً اللہ اسے اجر دے گا۔

ایک اور حدیث مبارک میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: "روزہ انسان کے لیے ڈھال کا کام کرتا ہے، بشرطیکہ وہ اسے پھاڑ نہ ڈالے۔"

حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے مروی ہے کہ جب آپ نے یہ فرمایا تو پوچھا گیا کہ یہ کسی سے بھی ٹوٹ سکتا ہے؟ دلیل اور اس جیسی دوسری بری باتوں اور برے الفاظ کی سختی سے ممانعت ہے۔

حدیث مبارکہ میں ہے کہ: "جو شخص روزے کی حالت میں برا بھلا کہنے سے باز نہ آئے تو اللہ تعالیٰ کو اس کے بھوکے پیاسے رہنے کی کوئی ضرورت نہیں، اگر روزہ دار روزے کے بعد بے حیائی کا مرتکب ہو، اگر لڑائی جھگڑا نہ چھوڑے۔ گالی گلوچ، فحاشی یا اس طرح کی دوسری چیزیں تو اس کا روزہ نہیں رہتا بلکہ اس کی بھوک بن جاتی ہے جس کا اللہ کے احکام سے کوئی تعلق نہیں۔

ایک اور حدیث مبارک میں ہے کہ روزہ صرف کھانے پینے سے رکنے کا نام نہیں ہے بلکہ روزہ بد کلامی اور بد کلامی سے بچنے کا نام ہے۔

حضرت عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ جس کے اعضاء حرام کاموں سے باز نہ آئیں، اس کو میری خاطر کھانے پینے کی کوئی ضرورت نہیں۔ جس طرح زبان کو فحاشی، غیبت اور جھوٹ سے بچانا ضروری ہے، اسی طرح انسان کے لیے بھی ضروری ہے۔ دوسرے اعضاء جیسے آنکھ، کان، ناک، ہاتھ اور پاؤں کو برے کاموں سے بچانا ضروری ہے۔

حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کردہ ایک حدیث مبارک کے الفاظ یہ ہیں: ’’جب رمضان کا مہینہ آیا تو فساد برپا ہو گیا۔
