As of 2023, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been reorganized into two separate union territories: 

Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The current list of Union Territories in India in 2023 is as follows:

  • Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu
  • Lakshadweep
  • Delhi
  • Puducherry
  • Jammu and Kashmir
  • Ladakh

Each Union Territory has its own Lieutenant Governor, who is appointed by the President of India.
